- 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted and chopped
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup dark chocolate chunks
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until combined. Fold in chopped cherries and chocolate chunks.
- Drop spoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are set and centers are slightly soft.
- Cool on wire racks before serving. Enjoy!
Notes
- Chopped fresh cherries can be replaced with dried cherries or cherries preserved in syrup for variation.
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
