Ingredients
Scale
- 1 9-inch pie crust, pre-baked
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the baked pie crust on a baking sheet.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, vanilla, and spices until well combined.
- Gradually add milk and cream, whisking continuously to create a smooth custard mixture.
- Pour the custard into the prepared pie crust.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until the custard is set but still slightly wobbly in the center.
- Remove from oven and let cool before serving. Optionally, caramelize the top with a sprinkle of sugar using a kitchen torch for a glossy finish.
Notes
- For an extra festive touch, add a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg on top before baking.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature for best flavor.
