  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla, mixing well.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  4. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon for the crumb topping. If using nuts, fold them in.
  5. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto prepared baking sheets. Sprinkle crumb topping over each cookie.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden around edges. Cool on wire racks.
  7. Mix powdered sugar and milk to make glaze. Drizzle over cooled cookies before serving.
