- 1 package of refrigerated pie crusts
- 3 medium apples, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Granulated sugar for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a mini muffin tin.
- Cut pie crusts into small circles, about 3 inches in diameter.
- In a bowl, mix diced apples with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Place a crust circle in each muffin cup, spoon apple filling into each, and top with another crust circle.
- Seal edges and brush with beaten egg. Sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Use tart apples like Granny Smith for best flavor.
- Can be made ahead and reheated briefly before serving.
