- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons cinnamon sugar (for coating)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
- In a small bowl, combine cinnamon and sugar for coating.
- Roll dough into 1 1/2-inch balls. Coat each ball in cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Place on prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown.
- Allow cookies to cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- For chewier cookies, use slightly underbaked cookies and let them cool on the baking sheet.
